MUSIC
I did 45 years in the Rock Band Bizz as a bass player. Some keyboard and guitar as well. I loved playing live gigs, a lot of work from unloading the truck to packing up and loading out at 3 AM. Lots of healthy physical exercise.
I haven't been in a band for decades. Lately, I'm trying to learn how to use Ardour, a large program called a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). This software and other DAWs are amazing. Before the digital age, you had to rent time in a recording studio with million$ in equipment and an engineer to operate it, not cheep.
My have things changed. I use a Scarlett interface. The interface has jacks for guitars, mics and other signal sources, just plug in and record, pretty easy. Playback also uses the interface in the other direction, it's output to your amp and speakers or headphones. Once you have some tracks recorded, the software does all that studio stuff, editing, reverb and effects, mixing, etc. I'm barely getting started with Ardour. My Operating System is Ubuntu Studio, has a ton of software pre-installed for audio and video production. I want to record some of my stuff, we'll see how that goes.
Meanwhile, I may provide some youtube links to some favorite music videos in the future.
